Gas Connection Scam : On one hand, the government is constantly working to reduce cyber fraud in the country. On the other hand, scammers always find a new way to cheat people. In this episode, a new fraud has been discovered, where scammers are now making people their victims through gas connections. Scammers are targeting people who use LPG or PNG gas service. People get messages on WhatsApp that their gas connection will be disconnected at 9:30 pm due to non-payment of the bill. A number is also given in the message. When a call is made to that number, the fraudsters talk pretending to be an employee of the gas company. After this, they ask people to download an app.
After this, as soon as you install the app on your phone, you will become a victim of scam. Actually, as soon as you install the app on your phone and make payment, your bank details and mobile phone access goes to hackers. These people can take advantage of this and empty your account. This will make you lose your years of earnings in one go.
How to avoid gas connection scam-
- Check any messages received from unknown numbers carefully.
- If you receive any message from your gas connection, contact the gas connection provider directly
- Do not download any app on your phone at the behest of anyone
- Strengthen the security of your bank account, check your account regularly
- If you suspect that you have become a victim of any fraud, immediately contact your bank and gas service provider.
